‘Frozen 2’ To Start Recording Soon

It’s been almost four years since Frozen took the world by storm with its fun characters, visually stunning animation and wonderful music, but now, Disney looks to be getting the ball rolling on its sequel. According to Jonathan Groff, who stars as Kristoff, he will begin recording his lines soon.

“I think I just got an email yesterday where I’m about to go into the recording studio in a couple of weeks, or maybe a month?… They’re about to really get into the thick of recording it, which I’m excited about. I don’t know anything about it yet other than I’m about to start recording my section of it…“I’m just excited that I’m in it [laughs], you know? Excited to be in it and that creative team [directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck and the two songwriters] is also just so amazing, so I’m excited to get back in a room with them and play around.… The four of them are such an awesome team and I really, really love them.”

Groff spoke about the highly anticipated sequel in an interview Entertainment Weekly, where he was promoting an upcoming musical podcast.

Disney confirmed a sequel to Frozen way back in 2015 and Kristen Bell, who plays Anna, said that a script was ready to go. It is unconfirmed as to whether Indina Menzel, Kristen Bell or Josh Gad have begun recording their lines but this is the first confirmation that Frozen 2 has finally entered production.

We’ll have to wait another two years before Frozen 2 hits theatres but until then, Elsa, Anna and Olaf will be back when a brand new Frozen short called Olaf’s Frozen Adventure hits theatres alongside Pixar’s newest film Coco on November 22, 2017.

Frozen 2 will be released on November 27, 2019.
