Cara Delevingne Doesn’t Think She’s Returning for ‘Suicide Squad 2’

Suicide Squad is frequently cited as the worst entry into the DC Extended Universe. While it was praised for its character dynamic and ensemble cast, it was also widely criticized for its lazy story, wonky CGI and an extremely underwhelming villain, Enchantress. Now, the actress who brought the character to life is speaking out on returning for the upcoming sequel.

While promoting her upcoming film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, Cara Delevingne spoke with about coming back for Suicide Squad 2 and she doesn’t seem optimistic about Enchantresses’ return. When asked if Enchantress is gone for good, she said:

“Pretty sure. It was a life-changing experience and of course I’d do another one, but I don’t think it would make sense for the character. I’ll probably still be on the set hanging out with everyone.”

Story wise, this makes sense as the sorceress was destroyed during the climactic final battle between her and Task Force X. If DC were to want Enchantress to return, it definitely shouldn’t be in a Suicide Squad sequel. The character was all wrong for a movie that had grounded, non-supernatural villains.  However, Justice League Dark seems like a prime film for her to show up in. She is after all their main villain in the New 52 comics run.

Suicide Squad 2 still doesn’t have a director or release date but stay tuned to Talkies Network for all the latest on this anticipated sequel.

The next DCEU film lined up for release is Justice League which comes out November 16, 2017.
