Comic-Con may be over but that doesn’t mean the directors of big budget superhero films are done teasing fans to no end. Avengers: Infinity War will finally bring together Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and the Guardians of the Galaxy and co-director Joe Russo is now teasing a very fun dynamic between the leader of the Guardians and the god of thunder.
In an interview with IGN, Russo describes Thor’s and Star-Lord’s partnership as very funny:
“You know what’s interesting is that because of the re-toning that Taika (Waititi) did with Thor 3 and the direction Thor is heading in as a character, he and Star-Lord were a very surprising combination and a very funny combination. So I’m excited for the audience to see the two of them together.”
It’s interesting that Russo brings up Taika Waititi and Thor: Ragnarok. Fans have noted that the two Thor 3 trailers have a very similar look and tone to James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, as it clearly helped The Russo Brothers form a fun team with Thor and Star-Lord.
