Josh Brolin has quite the 2018 planned. Not only will he be playing one of Marvel’s biggest villains, Thanos, he will also be portraying one of the most popular X-Men characters ever, Cable. Brolin has been teasing his Cable physique on social media for a while now and fans cannot wait to see Brolin in action. Now, Brolin is not the only one teasing Cable’s epic debut in Deadpool 2 as Ryan Reynolds is speaking out on how great Brolin is in the role.

In a recent interview with Fandango, Reynolds promises that Brolin’s interpretation of Cable will be epic and brutal:

“I think it’s going to be very interesting. I’ve spent this last week on the business end of many Josh Brolin punches. Both verbal and physical and literal and it’s going to be pretty fantastic. He’s going to be epic. He’s going to be an epic Cable.”

Cable was created by Deadpool and Domino creator, Rob Liefeld and is a master tactician who was raised in a dystopian future. Cable travels to the past in an attempt to prevent Apocalypse from causing this horrific future. In the comics, Cable is usually portrayed as the straight man to Deadpool’s craziness.

The craze for Deadpool 2 has only be increasingly amplified. Just yesterday, Reynolds gave fans their first look at Cable’s partner, Domino, who will be played by Atlanta star, Zazie Beetz. It’s only a matter of time before FOX unveils the first look at Brolin’s Cable.

Deadpool 2 kills its way into theatres on June 1, 2018.
