Kevin Feige on Marvel’s Next Four Films Being Very Different and Unique

With the Marvel Cinematic Universe turning 10 years old in 2018, Kevin Feige is promising that this franchise still has a lot of tricks up its sleeve.

Last night, Thor: Ragnarok held its world premiere and Feige was on the red carpet speaking to reporters. When asked about how the MCU will change after this film, Feige said that Ragnarok is meant to be the beginning in a 4 film arc that shows something unique from Disney and Marvel:

“All of the next films by design have been built to be very different, to be very unique. RagnarokBlack Panther, certainly as we get into Infinity War and even Ant-Man and the Wasp, which is nearing the end of their production period right now. All four of those movies are distinct and special and I can’t wait for people to see. Thankfully they get to see Ragnarok starting now.”

Ever since the first Rangarok trailer debuted with Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song playing the background, fans have noticed the major tonal shift from the first two Thor films. This comes from director Taika Waititi, who is known for his quirky, funny and emotional films and the result is a final product that seems to have more in common with the Guardians of the Galaxy films.

Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War will also look to make their own respective statements when they premiere. Both will be visually different and have their own tones but all four (including Ant-Man and the Wasp) will overlap as Marvel is finally gearing up for Thanos’ introduction to Earth.

Thor: Ragnarok fights its way into theatres on November 3, 2017.
