Warner Bros. Reveals Fantastic Beasts 2 Title & Cast Photo

Are you excited as I am right now after reading that title? Today, Warner Bros. released the official title for the upcoming sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them along with a first look at the ensemble cast!

Check out the official statement from Warner Bros. below:

Warner Bros. Pictures announces “FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD” as the title of the second of five all new adventures in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World™. Opening exactly one year from today, November 16, 2018, the film features an ensemble cast led by Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, with Jude Law and Johnny Depp.

While the original mainly focused on Redmayne’s Newt Scamander trying to recover all his lost magical beasts and slightly hint to the greater war that Johnny Depp’s Grindelwald is fighting, the sequel will dive right into the wizarding world battle.

Albus Dumbledore will make his first appearance in the Harry Potter prequel series as he enlists the help of his former student, Newt to track down the maniacal wizard.

The cast photo reveals some interesting tidbits. It’s clear now that Ezra Miller’s Credence did survive the events of the first film and will somehow factor into the larger plot. Perhaps Grindelwald isn’t finished just yet with the unstable Wizard. Newt’s friends from New York will also be returning to most likely assist him in helping Dumbledore. Finally, the Lestrange family makes its villainous return to the Wizarding World with Zoe Kravitz’s Leta, a former friend and possibly love interest of Newt’s.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald flies into theatres on November 16, 2018.
