Personally, one of my favourite parts about filmmaking is the concept art process. It’s always exciting to see how scenes came to be in the form of art and today, we have a brand new piece of concept art from Thor: Ragnarok to showcase.
Thanks to Ryan Meinerding, he released a new look into Thor’s gladiator battle with his Avenger ally, The Hulk. The scene depicts an early version with much different costumes as well as Thor attempting to calm Hulk down by signing the lullaby Natasha Romanoff sang to Hulk in Avengers; Age of Ultron. Check it out below!
In this version, Thor still has his famous golden hair, something that fans now know, gets chopped off in the final version of the film. Hulk is wielding the same ax seen in Ragnarok but both are in incredibly different outfits, more reminiscent to classic gladiator costumes.
As always, Meinerding does an incredible job showing the process work of Ragnarok but, like many, I can’t wait to see what concept art lies ahead for Avengers: Infinity War! It’s only a matter of time before we get a look into the film right?
Thor: Ragnarok is in theatres everywhere now.
