Disney Announces The Cast for Live-Action Adadptation of ‘Artemis Fowl’

A long awaited announcement has finally come from Walt Disney Studios regarding the cast for their live-action adaptation of Artemis Fowl. After revealing that Kenneth Branagh will be at the helm for the project, Disney has now announced the film’s cast!

After searching through 1200 candidates, FERDIA SHAW has been chose to play the titular character. This will be his on-screen debut. For those who don’t know, Artemis Fowl is a 12-year-old genius who finds himself in a battle of strength and cunning against a powerful, hidden race of fairies who may be the culprit behind his father’s disappearance.

Josh Gad was announced to be playing Mulh Diggums, a kleptomaniac dwarf who works for the fairies and Judi Dench will be playing Commander Root who leads the fairy police force. On the supporting side, Laura Mcdonnell will play Captain Holly Short, an elf hero and Nonso Anozie is Butler, Artemis Fowel’s bodyguard.

The live-action adaptation of Artemis Fowl is based on the bestselling novel series by Eoin Colfer, with a screenplay written by award-winning playwright Conor McPherson.

Artemis Fowel is set to be released on August 9, 2019.
