Talkies Network can confirm that the Maroni crime family will appear on DC’s upcoming series Titans for their new streaming service.
Thanks to production photos below, one trailer is dedicated to “Stunt Maroni 1,” which seemingly confirms that Sal Maroni himself, along with his crime family, will appear in the highly anticipated DC series based on the popular comic. Check it out below!
This ties into the appearance of Tony Zucco, a character deeply seeded in Batman and Robin mythos. Zucco is responsible for the murder of Dick Grayson’s family. This would lead Bruce Wayne to adopting the young Grayson and him later becoming Robin. Batman and Robin would later track down Zucco and have him arrested for his crimes. This also essentially confirms that Titans will adapt elements of Batman: Dark Victory where Zucco is portrayed as a low-level thug working for Sal Maroni.
Additionally, the production photos also confirmed that Beast Boy was on set with Starfire and a stunt double for Robin. I can confirm that Ryan Potter, who plays Garfield Logan/Beast Boy was actually on set but I did not see him in costume. The show is currently shooting at the University of Toronto, where I am a student.
Titans follows a group of young superheroes from all over the DC Universe when Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of the fearless band of new heroes known as the Titans.
Titans stars Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Lindsey Gort as Detective Amy Rohrbach, Alan Ritchson as Hawk, Minka Kelly as Dove, and Ryan Potter as Beast Boy
Titans is set to premiere sometime in 2018 with 13-episodes on DC’s upcoming digital service.
