E3 2018: Square Enix Conference Live Recap

Welcome to Talkies Network’s Live Recap of Square Enix’s E3 2018 Conference! Here, you will find live updates from the conference as well as the newest trailers from all the latest games and updates from Bethesda. Refresh the page constantly to get the latest updates!

First they began with a game trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which we see the games developer. Shadow of the Tomb Raider contains a more brutal Lara than the 2013 reboot and its sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider. Aside from the darker tone, there’s also more of a focus on stealth and more sophisticated traversal, including fully-fledged swimming. For more on the upcoming game, check out the latest Shadow of the Tomb Raider trailer.

Next we turn our attention to Final Fantasy Online, where Square unveiled the crossover event in a trailer released during its E3 conference. The collaboration will launch sometime this summer.

Next Square announced The Awesome Adventure of Caption Spirit. All we received was a cinematic video showing Chris, mostly likely the hero within the story, creating the character of Caption Spirit.

This is a BIG ONE even though we’ve known about it, a new trailer was shown for the upcoming “Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age” at Square Enix’s E3 briefing. The trailer shows the first look at gameplay “Dragon Quest” fans can look forward to. The wait isn’t too long— “Dragon Quest XI” releases Sept. 4, 2018.

PlatinumGames, the studio best known for action heavy adventure games like Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and Nier: Automata, announced a new game called Babylon’s Fall at the Square Enix E3 press conference today. The reveal trailer focuses on a historical timeline before kicking into a battle between two mysterious, armored beings. For now, we don’t have many other details, only that the game is expected to launch next year on PlayStation 4 and Steam.

As we found out yesterday from Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference is Nier Automama will finally be coming for Xbox One X, with additional DLC included.

Square Enix unveiled a brand-new trailer for much-anticipated Octopath Traveller. Due to launch July 13th, the retro-inspired RPG from the minds behind the fantastic Bravely Default titles is looking to be one of the finest titles on Nintendo Switch this year.

Just Cause makes its triumphant return with Just Cause 4, out in December this year.

Square Enix has announced a game called The Quiet Man during its E3 2018 press conference that’s coming in August, although details about the game are light. The reveal actually began as a live-action trailer that then shifted into a short moment of in-engine combat.

Nearly five years to the day since its announcement, Kingdom Hearts 3’s release date for PS4 and Xbox One has finally been revealed just ahead of E3 2018. Square Enix will make Kingdom Hearts 3 available on the PS4 and Xbox One on January 29, 2019. It will be released five days earlier in Japan on Jan. 25, 2019.

Thanks for following along with me today! Stay tuned for tonight’s official coverage on Ubisoft’s conference at 4:00pm EST
