Alec Baldwin Announces Exit from Joaquin Phoenix’s ‘Joker’ Movie

It hasn’t even been a full 24 hours since it was announced that Alec Baldwin would be joining Todd Phillips’ Joker film yet the news is already changing. Baldwin has come out to say he will not be in the project.

According to USA Today, Baldwin says he is “no longer doing that movie” due to various “scheduling” issues.

Baldwin’s role would have been that of Thomas Wayne, with the character being described as a cheesy, schmuck that closely resembled a 1980s version of Donald Trump. It’s unclear if Baldwin dropped the role to avoid controversy or just had a change of mind, but the dropout comes as a surprise.

So far, Warner Bros. has not commented on Balwin’s exit.
