Rotten Tomatoes Disables Negative Pre-Release User Ratings for ‘Captain Marvel’

The controversy surrounding Rotten Tomatoes and Captain Marvel has been ended.

Following the public outcry of trolls dropping Captain Marvel’s “want-to-watch” rating to a record low for a Marvel film, Rotten Tomatoes has removed the option to give the movie a negative interest rating prior to release.

The change appeared tonight, with the only option now available is to rate the movie “Want to See.” Fans must login with an account to do so. Check out the screenshot below of the Rotten Tomatoes page for the film:

Funny enough, Rotten Tomatoes has apparently disabled this option for all future releases. This moves comes after another Disney-produced film, Star Wars: Episode IX, also started seeing an influx of rating-bombing.
