Dave Bautista has been to the far reaches of the Marvel universe, and the broken world of Los Angeles 2049. Now, he’ll make his way to a zombie-ridden Las Vegas.
Deadline has exclusively reported that the Guardians of the Galaxy star has officially been cast in Zack Snyder’s newest project, Army of the Dead. The project will be written by Shay Hatten and Snyder.
The adventure is set during a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, during which a man puts together a group of mercenaries to take the ultimate gamble: venturing into the quarantined zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.
Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder are producing, and Ori Marmur and Andrew Norman are overseeing it for Netflix.
Bautista will next be seen reprising his Drax role in Avengers: Endgame, which Disney and Marvel release April 26; he also stars in Stuber, the Fox/Disney film with a July 12 release date, and the STX pic My Spy, whose trailer debuted at CinemaCon. He is also shooting Dune, reuniting with his Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve, and also has a third Guardians of the Galaxy, with James Gunn back directing.
