Ella Purnell (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Sweetbitter) has officially joined the cast of Zack Snyder’s upcoming Army of the Dead. Purnell will be playing Kate, daughter of Dave Bautista’s character. Ana De La Reguera (Everything, Everything, Goliath), Huma Qureshi (Kaala, Viceroy’s House, Gangs of Wasseypur, Badlapur), and Theo Rossi (Luke Cage, Sons of Anarchy) have also been added to the cast list.
Snyder and his wife Deborah Snyder are producing the film, and Snyder and Shay Hatten are penning the script. The project is said to follow a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas and a man who assembles a group of mercenaries to pull off a fantastic heist. This project marks Snyder’s return to the zombie genre, with his first zombie film being Dawn of the Dead for Universal Pictures in 2004.
