Warner Bros Officially Approves Robert Pattinson For Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’

The Battinson is coming.

Warner Bros. has officially approved Robert Pattinson as the new Batman for Matt Reeves’ upcoming solo film, The Batman. Pattinson was previously reported to be in talks for the role, but new reports came out stating that he, along with Nicholas Hoult were both being considered for the role. Following screen tests yesterday featuring both actors, WB officially settled on Pattinson to lead the next film chronicling the caped crusader.

The film is produced by Dylan Clark, who produced Reeves’ Planet of the Apes films. WB is expected to announce Pattinson within the coming days.  This biggest we, along with several other trades can confirm, is that Pattinson’s Batman will apparently not carry on the work that Ben Affleck did as the older Batman in Batman Vs. Superman and Justice League. So, unless some retcons take pace, this Batman will not exist within the DCEU. Reeves is also confirmed to be working on a trilogy of sorts.

Pre-production on the Warner Bros.-DC Comics feature is expected to start this summer in the U.K. No official start date has been set for filming The Batman.

The Batman flies into theatres on June 25, 2021
