NBC Announces ‘The Good Place’ Will End with Season 4

I guess this is the sad place?

The Good Place, from prolific showrunner/producer Michael Schur has been confirmed to be ending with its previously announced fourth season on NBC. Schur (Parks and Recreation) stated in the past that the acclaimed series, starring Kristen Bell and Ted Danson, was never designed to be a long-running series.

The final season news, announced Friday night at the show’s For Your Consideration Emmy panel, comes at a time when Schur has mapped out his long-term plans. The producer inked a massive five-year, nine-figure deal said to be worth $25 million annually to remain with producers Universal Television.

With The Good Place drawing to a close, Schur will next turn his attention to his newest series, Sunnyside, starring Kal Penn. The show was ordered to series at NBC. The single-camera entry centres on an ex-New York councilman who helps immigrants in search of the American Dream, and is written by Penn and Parks grad Matt Murray.
