Rejoice Terminator fans! Comic-Con 2019 is here and we have our first major announcement from the event.
Today, the cast and crew of Terminator: Dark Fate took to the stage of Hall H to discuss the highly anticipated sequel. While not present, James Cameron appeared on the big screen to sing the praises of all those involved in making the film. Near the end of his speech, Cameron discussed bringing back Linda Hamilton to the franchise, and that’s when he revealed that Edward Furlong would also be back as John Connor.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day was Furlong’s first movie role. He portrayed John Connor, the son of Sarah Connor, as a young teen living in foster care and being pursued by a new breed of Terminator, the T-1000. He did not reprise the role in any future Terminator installments. The role of John Connor was played by Nick Stahl in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Christian Bale in Salvation, and Jason Clarke in Genysis.
The film also stars Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, and Gabriel Luna as a new model of Terminator. Tim Miller (Deadpool) is in the director’s chair for the film.
Terminator: Dark Fate will hit theaters November 1, 2019.
