Paul Walter Hauser, who played a major role in 2017’s Oscar-nominated I, Tonya, will be joining I, Tonya director Craig Gillespie once again in Disney’s Cruella, the live-action remake of the 1961 animated classic 101 Dalmatians.
Cruella is being described as an origin story for the classic villain Cruella de Vil who’s being played by Emma Stone. The film will be set in the early 1980s with a punk vibe and will also star Emma Thompson. Cruella‘s most recent script was penned by Tony McNamara. Andrew Gunn is producing the film along with Marc Platt and Kristin Burr.
Paul Walter Hauser will be playing a character named Horace.
Hauser played Shawn Eckhardt in I, Tonya and also starred in Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman. He’ll be reteaming with Lee on his Netflix movie Da 5 Bloods and he is currently shooting the leading role in Clint Eastwood’s Richard Jewell movie.
Cruella is set for a Dec. 23, 2020, release.
