Matt Reeves is teaming with a familiar face for The Batman’s musical score.
Oscar winner Michael Giacchino announced today that he will be scoring the upcoming Batman film, starring Robert Pattinson as the caped crusader.
Giacchino was performing at the Royal Albert Hall, when Matt Reeves took the stage. The famed got down on one knee in a mock proposal, asking Giacchino to join The Batman. The exchange was captured in a video from an attendee, and reported by Empire journalist Chris Hewitt.
Reeves and Giacchino have worked on numerous films together, including Cloverfield, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and War for the Planet of the Apes. The famed composer was awarded an academy award for his work on Up, and has composed several other Disney films, such as Ratatouille, The Incredibles, and The Incredibles 2.
His work in comic books movies include Doctor Strange, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Spider-Man: Far From Home, After completing The Batman, he’ll shift back to Marvel Studios for Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness.
The Batman stars Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and Paul Dano as The Riddler.
Warner Bros. is set to release The Batman on June 25, 2021.
