The highly anticipated fourth Matrix film is adding another huge name to its ensemble cast.
Priyanka Chopra is in final neogtiations to star in WB’s Matrix 4. She will join returning cast members Keanu Reeves, who plays Neo, Carrie-Anne Moss, who plays Trinity, and Jada Pinkett Smith, who plays Niobe. Newcomers to the franchise include Jessica Henwick, Neil Patrick Harris, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Toby Onwumere.
Details about her character are currently being kept a secret, much like with the rest of the new cast.
Lana Wachowski is on board to write and direct and Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures will produce and distribute the film. Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell co-wrote the script with Wachowski, who will also produce with Grant Hill. The movie is expected to begin production in 2020.
Variety, who was first to break the news, noted that The cast has been in fight training for weeks for production start, which will begin Imminently in Northern California.
The untitled fourth Matrix film is set to open May 21, 2021
