Jason Statham to Team with Kevin Hart for Comedy Film ‘The Man From Toronto’

Jason Statham and Kevin Hart are currently in talks to star in the upcoming Sony Pictures action-comedy The Man From Toronto.

Patrick Hughes, the director of The Hitman’s Bodyguard and The Expendables 3 will direct the film.  Robbie Fox and Jason Blumenthal will be penning the script. Todd Black, Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch will be producing with Bill Bannerman serving as executive producer.

Kevin Hart can currently be seen in Sony’s Jumanji: The Next Level, which has made over $738 million at the worldwide box office. He most recently starred in Night School, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and The Upside. He has just completed production on Fatherhood, which will be released by Sony Pictures on Jan. 15, 2021.

Statham recently starred in Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw and has been in other films such as The Meg, The Fate of the Furious, Spy, The Expendables franchise and The Transporter franchise.  He recently completed production on Cash Truck for Miramax where he’ll reteam with his Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels director, Guy Ritchie.

Sony is keeping details of the plot under wraps but the film is expected to release on Nov. 20.
