Disney+ Moving Forward with ‘Turner & Hooch’ Reboot Series, Josh Peck to Star

After a brief stint in development, Disney+ has announced that it is officially moving forward with a reboot of the classic movie Turner & Hooch.

The streaming giant has cast Josh Peck in the lead role, with the series’ first season being 12 episodes. Peck will play the role of U.S. Marshall Scott Turner. It is unknown as to if the series will use a real dog or CGI Turner’s partner for the series.

The original movie starred Tom Hanks in the role of Turner, and follows a detective navigating a new life with his mischievous dog Hooch. The reboot series is being developed by Matt Nix (Burn Notice, The Gifted) and Disney-owned studio 20th Century Fox TV.

Turner & Hooch is the latest in a long line of Disney+ reboots of classic IP’s. Also in development are a second season for  High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Lizzie McGuire, The Sandlot and Greg Berlanti feature Love, Simon.
