“Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!”
Your eyes do not deceive you, Rick Moranis is officially returning to the world of acting for Disney Plus’ Honey, I Shrunk the Kids reboot. The film, titled Shrunk, will star Josh Gad, and will be a new take on the classic story.
Joe Johnston will be back in the director’s chair, having previously directed the original 1989 film. Shrunk follows Gad’s character who is the son of Rick Moranis’ Wayne Szalinski. the younger Szalinski is aspiring to be a great scientist like his father, but accidentally shrinks the kids.
Moranis’ return was originally reported by The Disinsider last week, but word is now that Moranis is officially on board.
The Spaceballs star has been on a hiatus from acting since 1997, and while not officially retired, Moranis has said that he was selective about which projects he would work on.
