In an aggressive move, Warner Bros. Pictures has acquired The Pinkerton, a script by Daniel Casey, for J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot production company.
There are currently no specific details on the film’s logline but the project has been described as a “supernatural revenge thriller”. Pinkertons are the name of the detectives from the Pinkerton agency who became famous for acting as security for President Abraham Lincoln as well as working for corporations during the American industrial age.
Casey previously worked with Abrams when he did a rewrite on the producer and director’s thriller 10 Cloverfield Lane. He also wrote Kin, the 2018 sci-fi thriller, and his hitman thriller Leo from Toledo is expected to begin production in April with Joe Carnahan serving as director and Mel Gibson and Frank Grillo starring. Casey was also a co-writer on F9, the newest installment of the Fast & Furious franchise that is expected to release on May 22.
