According to an article released by Discussing Film, Scream 5 is currently in development and is expected to begin filming in May. The studio Spyglass is said to be developing the film along with production companies Radio Silence, Outerbank Entertainment, and Project X Entertainment.
Ready or Not directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will be helming the film and Chad Villella and original Scream writer Kevin Williamson will executive produce.
There is next to nothing that’s been confirmed in terms of plot details but according to a source in the Discussing Film article, the movie will follow a woman returning to her home town to try to find out who has been committing a series of vicious crimes. It is unknown if it will continue the story of the past four ‘Scream’ films or start a new direction for the franchise.
