Nintendo has huge plans for the upcoming 35th anniversary for Super Mario, and fans may want to sit down for this one.
According to British gaming website Video Game Chronicle, Nintendo will celebrate Super Mario’s 35th anniversary by releasing remastered versions of “most” of its Super Mario games.
A second report from Eurogamer then mentioned that Super Mario Galaxy is among the remastered titles, in addition to a few other 3D Mario games. Both sites made note that a new Paper Mario game will also be released, as well as a deluxe edition of Super Mario World 3D.
VGC ended their report by saying Nintendo has plans to announce new details regarding its Super Nintendo World theme park and an animated Super Mario movie (which has been in development at Universal/Illumination).
Originally, Nintendo’s 35th anniversary Super Mario plans were rumored to be unveiled at this year’s E3, but the convention was cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
We did hear rumors that Nintendo would most likely unveil these plans at their own Nintendo Direct, but this unconfirmed at the moment and should be taken with a grain of salt.
