Stellan Skarsgard, Kyle Soller Join Disney Plus’ ‘Rogue One’ Spinoff Series

The Rogue One: A Star Wars Story spinoff series starring Diego Luna as Cassian Andor has officially added its first new cast members.

Variety is reporting that Stellan Skarsgard and Kyle Soller are both in final negotiations to star in the Cassian Andor series. They join Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk, who reprises his Rogue One role of K2S0, the reprogrammed Imperial droid.

Rogue One screenwriter Tony Gilroy has been announced to be penning the pilot’s script, while Stephen Schiff has been tapped as showrunner.

While the show was originally set to premiere some time in 2021, the recent COVID-19 pandemic has reportedly shifted those plans. The series has been described as a spy thriller, showcasing the early days of the rebellion.

The untitled Cassian Andor series is the third Disney+ Star Wars series, following Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian, and the untitled Obi-Wan Kenobi series, set to be directed by Deborah Chow and written Joby Harold.
