‘Arrow’s’ Stephen Amell Says Next CW Superhero Crossover will Introduce Batwoman

It only took 6 years but finally, the Arrowverse will introduce the famous city of Gotham and according to one star, the introduction will be twofold.

The CW will host another superhero crossover event this fall, featuring Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl, but this time they’ll be introducing the character of Batwoman into the mix.

Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen/Arrow in the television universe, took park in The CW’s upfront presentation on Thursday where he spoke about the upcoming superhero crossover:

“We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’ll be doing another crossover event this fall on the CW, and we’ll be introducing a new character. For the very first time appearing, we’ll be fighting alongside Batwoman, which is terrific. The crossover is going to make it to air in December. I need to leave right now and start filming it.”

CW boss Mark Pedowitz then added that the next DC crossover will of course be huge:

“We are adding the city of Gotham into the Arrowverse. This will be another full-throttled action packed event.”

The CW has caught quite a bit of flack over the years for its mishandling of characters while earlier seasons of each series received critical acclaim. The introduction of Gotham has been years in the making as it is the one major DC city that yet to be introduced in spite of being referenced several times. Amell nor CW mention which incarnation of Batwoman will appear as the identity of Batwoman is shared by two heroines in mainstream DC publications; both women are named Katherine Kane, with the original Batwoman commonly referred to by her nickname Kathy and the modern incarnation going by the name Kate.
