Jordan Peele made an immense splash in the filmmaking world when he debuted his first feature film, Get Out, last year to critical and commercial acclaim. Now, Peele has revealed his next film and Talkies Network has the scoop on who will star.
Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o and Elisabeth Moss are all in talks to star in Jordan Peele’s latest movie project, titled Us, for Universal Pictures.
The project is Peele’s first movie since Get Out, where it became a pop culture phenomenon and Oscar-winner.
Peele is once again set to direct from his own script. He is also producing via his Monkeypaw Productions alongside Jason Blum and Sean McKittrick. Also producing is Monkeypaw’s Ian Cooper.
Nyong’o, who won an Oscar for her work on Twelve Years a Slave, was last seen in Marvel’s Black Panther. She is set to star alongside Viola Davis in TriStar’s The Woman King and is attached to star in the feature adaptation of Trevor Noah’s best-selling humor biography.
Elisabeth Moss, after becoming the breakout star in AMC’s Mad Men, secured the lead role in Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, a brutal dystopian series that deals with the fall of the United States and the theocratic regime that rose from the ashes, stripping away every right a woman has ever had. Moss has earned critical acclaim for her role and the series was recently renewed for a third season.
Duke appeared on a handful of television shows such as Person of Interest and Modern Family before landing his breakout role of M’Baku in Panther. The character, both fierce and hilarious, was one of the breakout from the movie that grossed $1.3 billion. He also appeared in Avenger: Infinity War.
Universal has already dated the movie for March 15, 2019
